NYS Heroin Task Force Coming to Long Island

combat-heroin

New York State’s Task Force to Combat Heroin comes to Long Island on Wednesday, May 25th as part of our statewide listening tour. These meetings are necessarily short given the urgency of the issues at hand and the tight timeframes before the NYS Legislature adjourns for the summer. As a group, the Task Force is charged with coming up with a comprehensive plan to address the state’s opiate crisis, so we envision some initial must-do-right-now recommendations, followed by a more robust set of plans. None of the Task Force members are new to this fight, so we are all looking for very specific recommendations that either haven’t been discussed before or need emphasis. If you’ve got something to offer, please come to this week’s session. Here’s the info:

Wednesday, May 25 at 2:30 p.m. Farmingdale State College Campus Center, Ballroom 2350 Broadhollow Road Farmingdale, NY 11735

RSVP requested, but not required to: [email protected]

Also, if you can’t make the meeting, you can submit short written testimony here. All comments are distributed to Task Force members and we’ve received 135 statements to date with only one or two that I recognize as coming from Long Island.
